Biography
After graduating from Harvard with an Economics degree, Joe returned to his home state of Ohio for a job with a division of a large, multi-national manufacturer. Joe spent five years within that company, first as an international market and financial analyst and then as a domestic marketing manager. But in 1992, Joe left industry to pursue his life-long ambition of being a lawyer.
Joe entered the University of Dayton School of Law in his hometown ultimately excelling in moot court competitions as well as in the classroom. He graduated with Honors as well as with a number of academic achievement awards, while also having worked as a state court clerk. He left school in May of 1995 and in June, joined Bieser, Greer and Landis, kicking off the one and only legal job he has ever had as a licensed attorney.
Given his background, Joe has centered his entire practice around business and the solving of business challenges and disputes. He spent the first half of his 30+ years doing litigation and trial work only, mostly involving disputes between businesses or business owners. He then transitioned to a practice that included transactional work, helping small and mid-sized for-profit and non-profit organizations with governance, employment, regulatory, and succession issues, including mergers and sales of different sorts.
Joe has been AV rated since 2005 and noted for many years as both a Best Lawyer in America in the area of Commercial Litigation as well as an Ohio Super Lawyer.
